My personal journey began as a settler in a small community on the Six Nation territory, the land of the Algonquins people, also known as the Gatineau Hills of Quebec. Inspired by the stories I heard about the West Coast from my mother, I moved here in my mid-20s, seeking love, adventures and community. As a visitor to this land, I would like to acknowledge the traditional, unceded territory of the Coast Salish peoples, the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations, where I work, play and rent my home.
When I’m not reading or researching, I love listening to music, binging a good tv series, walking my dog with my spouse, exploring nature or thrifting with my child, chatting with a neighbour about our gardens or enjoying a good nap.
